Youth Muaythai League Begins April 23

April 23 the United States Muaythai Federation will hold its inaugural Youth Development League Sparring Scrimmage and Judge and Referee Course at the El Nino Training Center in San Francisco, California!

The YDL’s goal is to reduce the risk of head trauma in young athletes while developing very important aspects of their game such as timing, accuracy, balance, ring presence, etc and through scoring based on International Muaythai Standards.  Kids ages 6-17 will have the the opportunity to compete in bracketed YDL Muaythai matches based upon weight class and experience.

The day will also feature a USMF Judge and Referee “Class C” course led by Joshua Ferraro. Ferraro is a “Class A” certified IFMA Judge and Referee being awarded his credentials and experience directly from IFMA in Bangkok, Thailand. This course will cover both judging and refereeing for IFMA style Amateur Muaythai and cover YDL rules as well.
